Edge - Ninja Gaiden II Wastes Both DMC4 And God Of War!

DC R1D3R, 27/06/2008 - Yesterday, we reported that Ninja Gaiden II scored the highest review score in this months Edge magazine. Now that we've got our hands on the highly respected publication, the review not only claims that the fighting engine in Itagaki-san's game is without equal in the genre, but Edge states that basically, Ninja Gaiden II's gameplay mechanics, completely obliterates both DMC4 and the God Of War series.
Edge acknowledges that NG II is a hardcore game and even go as far as to say that Team Ninja has a gift beyond the vast majority of developers in the genre. Edge also encourages hardcore gamers to fully support Microsoft, because without them, hardcore gaming could be a thing of the past.
Details after the break.
When describing Ninja Gaiden II's fighting engine, Edge states:
The fighting engine is quite without equal in the genre
When comparing Ninja Gaiden II's fighting engine with DMC4 and God Of War, the Edge reviewer goes on to say:
It makes DMC4 feel like a wasted opportunity and God Of War an over-bloated spectacle
So, does this review finally vindicate Tobonobu Itagaki's claims of being the best 3-D action game developer? We think so! The Team Ninja warlord has received quite a bit of flak as of late. From impending lawsuits, being attacked by games journalists, to the not so clever appraisals of NG II from weaksauce reviewers, Itagaki-san has seen it all. But when Edge, the most respected UK gaming publication (perhaps even worlwide?) for the last 13 years, praises your game as the best in the genre, you know you're onto a winner!
